The local Red Cross was on the scene Monday night responding to a multi-unit apartment fire that occurred at 24 Magnolia in Forest Acres.

In total, two units were damaged.  The Red Cross provided immediate emergency assistance in the form of food, clothing and emotional support to one family that was affected.  In addition, the Red Cross provided hygiene kits, which include basic essential items such as a tooth brush, soap and shampoo to the family.

Since July 1, 2011, the local Red Cross has responded to over 700 disasters and has provided immediate emergency assistance to approximately 2,400 adults and children.
