Sheriff Leon Lott is proud to announce that Corporal Christopher Duke has been named "Deputy of the Year" by American Legion Post 182 during a banquet at the Fort Jackson Officers Club. The yearly award recognizes officers from local Fire Departments, EMS and Law Enforcement as well as Military Officers.

Sheriff Leon Lott says Corporal Duke was awarded this prestigious honor for his outstanding service to the community. The Sheriff adds that Chris is extremely professional and dedicated and emulates what every law enforcement officer should strive to be.

Corporal Duke has been with the Department for 9 years and presently works in the Uniform Division assigned to Region 2 (the Dentsville/Northeast Area) as Squad Leader.
