Parker Poe Holds Annual Charity Celebration in Columbia | Community Spirit

The Columbia office of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP held its fifth annual charity celebration on January 16th benefiting the Family Shelter, a nonprofit that provides food, shelter and resources to homeless families in the Midlands area.

“We are so excited that this year’s Parker Poe Giving Back event focuses on updating our laundry facility with new commercial grade, energy-efficient washers and dryers and laundry supplies,” said Rebecca Jacobson, the Family Shelter's Executive Director. “Community assistance is vital to our ability to support homeless families in the Midlands, and when groups like Parker Poe choose to support Family Shelter on an ongoing basis, it really makes a difference in our ability to maintain a stable and supportive living environment.”

The Firm’s Columbia attorneys donated two sets of washers and dryers and guests were asked to donate laundry and household cleaning supplies as their ticket into the event.

Parker Poe also asked each guest to enter the name of their favorite charity into a drawing as part of the Firm’s My Cause, Your Cause initiative. Three charities were selected at the end of the event, and Parker Poe will make a monetary donation in each winner’s name to the chosen organizations.

This is the fifth year for the Firm’s annual event in Columbia and the fourth benefiting the Family Shelter.
