Police looking for vehicle connected to 2 burglaries

The Forest Acres Police Department is investigating two separate burglaries that occurred in the past week involving a Mercedes-Benz.

According to police, in both incidents witnesses observed a gold, four door, late model E series Mercedes-Benz, parked at the residences where the burglaries occurred.

The car is described as having dark tinted windows and what appear to be bullet holes in the driver’s door, according to police.

CPD Implements New ‘Columbia Police Officer Job Orientation’ Program

Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott announces a new initiative to offer a convenient way of applying for employment at the Columbia Police Department.

The program is called the “Columbia Police Officer Job Orientation,” and is a two-hour long recruiting presentation for certified police officer applicants. 

Recruiters will spend time with each applicant to explain the step-by-step application process, including CPD’S expectations, requirements and qualifications for employment.
