“100 Years and Building: The Journey Continues”
The Columbia Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated will celebrate its annual Founder’s Day and Awards Banquet on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the Brookland Banquet & Conference Center 1066 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia, S.C.
Our keynote speaker is Brother William “Randy” Bates, Esquire, the Grand Polemarch of our fraternity. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is an international organization founded on the campus of Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana on January 5, 1911. The International Headquarters is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and since its inception; it has prepared over 150,000 men for the attainment of a high degree of excellence in their academic and professional pursuits and for leadership roles in their communities.
At the banquet we will recognize five prominent members of our fraternity who have made tremendous contributions to our community, they are:
- Russell Feaster, Military
- Bobby Young, Education
- JT McLawhorn, Community Service
- Rev. Hiram Spain, Religion, and
- Rep. Joe Neal, Government
As you can imagine, we are excited to have our newly elected Grand Polemarch visit the capital city. You would certainly want to be a part of this great occasion. We are offering an opportunity to place an ad in our commemorative souvenir program, which will be viewed by a large number of people in Columbia and surrounding areas. Tickets for the Founders Day Banquet are $30 each and a portion of the proceeds will support our Guide Right and scholarship programs. Those interested may contact F.
